Translationz Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander internship program for 2018 is an exciting opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander students who are currently enrolled in a TAFE or university level programs. The successful applicants will get a taste of the different roles and functions within a translation and interpreting agency.  We are open to those people studying languages, business, marketing, technology and other areas.

 The opportunity is likely to be based in our Melbourne office, however there is a possibility that it can based in other locations around Australia.  Some travel around Australia may be required. Travel for business purposes on Translationz projects will be paid.

To be a successful candidate, you must demonstrate:

• Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander status
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An outgoing personality including being honest, smart, happy and fun
• Self starter and self motivated.   

Period of internship

4 weeks minimum to 6 months maximum depending on University/Tafe requirement. 

Hours of internship

4 hours to 40 hours per week

Payment

This is a paid internship.  The payment will be A$3,600 per month including superannuation for a full month and adjusted pro-rata for reduced hours worked.

Amount of internships available in 2018

There are two internships available in 2018.

Start date

To be negotiated but expected to be in the June 2018 - September 2018 range.

Location:

Melbourne office location - with a possibility of other locations such as Perth, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane.

The internship program will be open for applications from February 1, 2018.  Applications will close May 30 2018.

You should be prepared for variety.  It is likely that the majority of your time will be working across the different aspects of our agency.  Interns are typically involved in all aspects of projects, marketing, client relationship, translation and/or interpreting and more.
