Blog Malay

The staff at Translationz appreciate hearing recognition stories about our colleagues in the translation and interpreter industry. The man known as “Father of Modern Malay” Abdullah Abdul Kadir has been celebrated by having an area in Kuala Lumpur “the Masjid” renamed to Jalan Munshi Abdullah.

Mr. Kadir was a pioneer in his time being the first Malay writer to depart from traditional Malay literary style adopting a less formal, lively, modern writing style. He translated literary and autobiographical works in the early 1800’s.
