Translationz was delighted to welcome students of the Interpreter Training Boost program onsite at our Brisbane office in August 20222.
A Queensland Government initiative, in partnership with TAFE SA, this is a 12-week subsidised course for interpreter training, endorsed by NAATI. Students will also be offered assistance with NAATI Certification fees.
In an effort to improve the working conditions for interpreters in the courts, Queensland Court Services Information & Court Technology Team are spearheading a project to test various new technology systems in court rooms.
The intent for introducing this new technology in court rooms is ensure the safety and comfort of interpreters by providing a separation between the defendant in the court room and the interpreter.

Assisting Limited English Patients
Pictured above, these kiosks assist limited-English and non-English speakers in easily navigating the hospital setting and provide important information about healthcare rights and COVID-19 safety. Translationz delivers foreign language voiceovers, dubbing and foreign language captioning.
Translationz has and continues to offer several courses and workshops to further educate our interpreters and translators.
Translationz sponsors fully funded Mater Healthcare Terminology courses. So far we have sponsored 47 interpreters and translators to undertake this training. In 2022, we’re excited to offer more opportunities for sponsorship!
Professionals can find it particularly challenging when clients are conversant in only one niche language. Some niche languages that Translationz provides interpreters for include:
- Oromo – spoken in Northeast Africa by 30 million people
- Amharic – spoken in Ethiopia by 21 million people
- Lingala – spoken in the Congo by 10 million people
- Tigrinya – spoken in Eritrea by 7 million people
